As a partner of the DC EITC (Earned Income Tax Campaign), our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) volunteers and staff provide
free tax preparation services to DC residents earning less than
$35,000 and families earning less than $51,000.
The campaign is a citywide, cross-sector initiative that
educates the public about income tax benefits that promote greater economic
security.
The VITA program is coordinated through Capital Area Asset Builders and Community Tax Aid. As a tax host site, our IRS-certified VITA volunteers are trained to prepare taxes; connect unbanked clients with banking services and help clients apply for food stamps.
